Here we are
Here we are
The broken and used
Mistreated, abused
Here we areHere you are
Here you are
The beautiful one
Who came like a Son
Here You are

So we lift up our voices
We open our hands
To cling to the love
That we can’t comprehend

Oh, lift up your voices
And lift up your heads
To sing of the love
That has freed us from sin

He is the one
Who has saved us
He is the one
Who embraced us
He is the one who has come
And is coming again
He’s the remedy

Here we are
Here we are
Bandaged and bruised
Awaiting a cure
Here we are

Here You are
Here You are
Our beautiful King
Bringing relief
Here You are with us

So we lift up our voices
And open our hands
Let go of the things
That have kept us from Him

He is the one
Who has saved us
He is the one
Who forgave us
He is the one who has come
And is coming again
He’s the remedy

Oh, I can’t comprehend
I can’t take it all in
Never understand
Such perfect love come
For the broken and beat
For the wounded and weak
Oh, come fall at His feet
He’s the remedy
He’s the remedy

So sing, sing

You are the one
Who has saved us
You are the one
Who forgave us
He is the one who has come
And is coming again
To make it alright
Oh, to make it alright
You’re the remedy
Oh, in us
You’re the remedy

Let us be the remedy
Let us bring the remedy

OH! [cough, cough, cough] Wow there is a lot of dust around here. Hmm I suppose this should be just like ridding a bike so here goes. I’ve been on the fence about starting this blog up again. The pretentious side of me wanted to give it up. I mean come on, who blogs anymore? With The Twitter and The Facebook is there really a need? I mean aren’t we inundated with unsolicited information about one another that there isn’t really a reason to blog anymore? I suppose one could make the argument that at least with blogs people elect to read what you have to say. It doesn’t just show up on your phone or on your wall or what have you. You have to make a conscious decision to read what this person has to say. But then I got to thinking about a few things. One, I’ve recently become a father. I know that just this one monumental change in my life will render some sort of interesting conversation. It definitely makes me appeal to a much larger audience. Two, I miss the community and the creative outlet. I’ve always enjoyed writing and I have really missed the friendships I’ve made through this blog. Three, I was looking at a friend’s blog today and there sitting atop his blog roll was my name. I felt so ashamed. Here sits one of the coolest, funnest, and nicest guys on the Internets, who has all these podcasts and fans and famous friends, and has listed me so prominently on his site, and my blog hasn’t had a regular post made to it in years. So here I am. I’m not sure how regularly I will be posting but I can assure you I will be building this puppy back up to what it once was. Maybe even better. So please don’t unsubscribe to me just yet. There is more to come.

So how have you guys been?

Remember Me?

Posted in After Midnight Project, Job, Little b on August 18, 2009 by superman1224

Well it’s been a long while. Everyday I look at this blog (ok not every day, but some days) and think, I really should start this up again. But what do I say? Where do I begin? There has been so much that has happend in the past 8 or so months. So I decided to do this Star Wars style. I’m just going to pick up in the middle and refer back to things I will assume you know from reading the novels? Wait…what? Anyway, here’s a little summery of what been going on with me.

I still work at Washtenaw Community College as a Graphic Designer.
I will be teaching part time at WCC in the Fall
My buddies After Midnight Project finally released their first studio album (Now go by it, if only to read my name in the thank yous)
I bought my first SUV
Oh yeah I almost forgot…

Marry Me

Posted in BMX, Kids, YouTube on February 12, 2009 by superman1224

Directed by Michelle Lehman, last year’s Tropfest Australia winning film, Marry Me, tells a little love story about “a little girl who likes a little boy and a little boy who likes his BMX bike”. The film was inspired by a true story when director, Michelle, at 5 years of age, would chase Jason Mahooney around the school in a pretend wedding dress (her mother’s nightie).

Sunday Setlist 2/08/08

Posted in Chris Tomlin, Worship, Worship confessional, Worship Leading on February 10, 2009 by superman1224

I know I’m late getting this out. I wanted to give it another day to marinate. So here is the set.

Everlasting God

Blessed Be Your Name

Prayer

Jesus Messiah

Communion

Famous One

Guest Speaker

He Is Lord

So this was my third Sunday. There were a lot of positives about this week. First of all no one quit this week. Last week I lost another Bass player. I won’t go into any of the details but I believe it was for the best. So this week my keyboard player became my new Bass player. He did a GREAT JOB. I had never heard him play Bass before and I was blown away.

This was the first week I tried a new song while leading the group. In the past learning a new song hasn’t been a big deal to me as a guitar player. I really liked it. I guess because I never really had to figure anything out. I just did what I was told. I wasn’t really sure how this was going to go but I was really passionate about this song and it fit well with the message.

Ever since going to the Tomlin concert a few weeks ago I’ve really been loving Jesus Messiah. Vocally I wasn’t sure if I could manage it. So I gave it to God and we rehearsed it and surprisingly it went really well. There is definitely a timing thing at the beginning I need to polish but it came together.

From a leading stand point I did try a few new things. One of which was the false ending. Ending a song and slowly building it and going back into it. I think it threw people at first but I like the way it worked out.

From a personal stand point I really felt a lot of doubt after the service was over. I didn’t feel like the set went well, despite all of the positive feedback. I was also starting to doubt myself as a leader. What my purpose was in all of this. I really think I was just under a lot of attack. However, yesterday I felt energized! I was excited to put this weeks set together. I feel very inspired. I’m sure the ups and downs are a natural thing in a position of leadership. I ask that you keep praying for my team. This is going to be a long learning process but in the end God will receive all the glory, and that’s what’s most important.

Remember…
