3 years + 11

Posted in Anniversary, Becca, Love, Wedding on June 4, 2008 by superman1224

It’s been 3 years to the day since we first said “I do”. 11 1/2 since our first kiss. When you’ve been with someone for so long it’s hard imagine never growing tired of them. Not my wife. When you have a wife that’s like mine, things are always interesting. I mean what’s not to love about someone who knows your favorite show. Who can make you feel like a kid again. Who tells stories like this one. Or how about someone who makes sacrifices for other people. Someone who makes your dreams come true. Or just someone to watch the game with. These are just a few examples of what a AMAZING (I told you I only use it when it actualy applies) person my wife is. God has blessed me in more ways I can count just for sending her my way. For her to look past all the hair, and flannel. To ignore the ripped up jeans, and the screaming music, and find someone she could spend the rest of her life with. I am forever greatful. I love you sweetheart.

Happy Anniversary!

Today is my Wife and I’s 2 year wedding Anniversary. I can’t imagine my life without her, probably because there hasn’t been too much of my life spent without her. Ever since the 8th grade, Becca has always been around. I am so thankful for that. She has kept me grounded. She has kept me strong, and has kept me, me. She is the best wife a guys could ever ask for. So I just wanted to take this time to tell her that I Love her and she means the world to me. I thank God every day for her. I look forward to what He has in store for us.

SHE DID IT! (1 hour 58 minutes 12 seconds)

So she made it. Becca started her half marathon at 7 am on Saturday morning May 26th. Let me tell you this, she was bookin! She finished at 1 hour 58 minutes and 12 seconds. This was a personal best for her. Her last time for the half marathon (13.1 miles) during her training was 2 hours 8 minutes, so a considerable improvement. She finished 20th in her age group (20-24) and 300th out of 900 runners over all. The winner of the half marathon ran it in 1 hour 38 minutes. So hey Becca was only 20 minutes back from the winner.

Becca’s Aunt Jane ran the half marathon as well and despite an injury and never being able to run the full 13 miles during her training (the most she was able to run was 8 miles due to the injury) finished the race without stopping in 2 hours and 38 minutes. We were so proud of both of them.

Marathon Woman

ralph_becca.jpgSo as many of you may or may not know, my wife is participating in the Team In Training Half Marathon in honor of her uncle Ralph that passed away last year. Team in Training is an endorsed training program that involves several marathons. The marathon has multiple purposes: 1) to raise awareness of blood cancers such as Leukemia and Lymphoma, 2) to raise funds for drug research to find a cure, and 3) to ease the financial burden placed on individual’s and their families when a family member has been diagnosed with cancer. Becca was only required to raise $1,500 for the marathon, but because we have the most supportive family and friends in the world, Becca was able to raise $2,542! We would like to thank you all for all the love and support you have given her all along the way.

Well race day is upon us. We leave tomorrow at noon to head up to Travers City. Her race begins on Saturday at 7:00am. Please everyone if you could keep us in your prayers as we travel and Becca in your prayers on Saturday I would really appreciate it. This will be a very emotional time for us but especially for Bec. She has worked so hard getting ready for this race. I could never be prouder of her. She has been such an inspiration to me. Also if you would like to leave any words of encouragement for her in the comments please do so Becca reads my blog everyday….I make her! Thank you all again so much for everything.

Also, it is never to late to donate. You can click here or on the link in my side bar to make an online donation. Thanks again.

My Wife is cooler than yours!

So last Friday I had the day off from work. Becca and I spent some quality time together. It was great. We went shopping and rode around in the stang picked up the in-laws from the airport and then came home to relax. On the door when we got home was a note from UPS. Well I’m upstairs on the computer and she comes up and lays the tag down on the desk and says dang it! I’m like what. She says, well I was going to surprise you but now you have to wait till Monday because we missed the delivery. I was like what delivery? She says look. So I look at the tag and it says “Musicians Friend” on it. I was like no way! She was like yup. You see earlier that week I had sent her a link to a practice amp that I needed/wanted because I keep my BIG amp at our rehearsal space because it is a pain to lug around everywhere. Well she took that link and ordered the amp without me knowing. So now I have a Spider III Line 6 at my house to practice on and get wicked good at guitar! Thanks to my loving wife. Ain’t they the best!

Oh yeah and the wife just told me I was talking in my sleep last night. Apparently I was playing my guitar and making the sound of the amp! No lie. I guess I like the amp.

Sports Sports Sports! I can’t remember a better weekend for sports. Let me break it down.

Saturday: Tigers Play the White Sox. The Yankees play Boston. The Red Wings (Kill) play the Flames, and the Pistons beat the Magic. Whew! I am tired just reading all that. The coolest part of that is I watched them all accept the Yanks Boston game. Good thing too. Since the Yanks got killed.

Sunday: NewSong Softball Practice! 2nd Softball practice with my wife and closest friends. Tigers beat the Sox Yanks play Boston and lose again and to cap off the night The Wings advance beating the Flames in Double OT.

Monday: I’m Sun burnt tired and a little sore. That means it was an awesome weekend.

How was yours?
