How I Do Work

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , on March 12, 2008 by superman1224

One of the greatest things about my job other than the fact that I get to create all day, is I can listen to music. Not many people can say that about their job.

I come in, grab my coffee, put on the headphones and jam all day long. Of course there are a few drawbacks to wearing headphones , but believe me, the positives far out weigh the negatives. It’s safe to say that headphones have saved the lives of many of my co-workers more than once. It also has been a safe keeper to my sanity.

If I ever had to get another job, I think I would take a pay cut if it meant I could still wear headphones while I design.

Headphones saves lives!

Tis The Season

eopcgroup.jpgYesterday started what I hope to be a long running tradition at my work. It marked one of the coolest things I have ever been apart of at Eden in my short three year work relationship. Normally the marketing department gets together and exchanges ornaments and goes out to a nice local restaurant to celebrate the Christmas season. This year we decided to change things up a bit.

Russ had the awesome suggestion, that instead of all of us getting together and exchanging ornaments, we should travel down to Detroit and take the hard working people at our Pasta Company out to eat with us and give them the ornaments.

This was the first time I had ever been to EOPC (Eden Organic Pasta Company), so I was really excited. Not to mention we were going to Fishbones to eat, and I love that place.

So we all piled into a van and drove down to Detroit and met with the crew. What a great group of people! There was so much history in the building. I got to see how all of our pasta is made. It was really neat to see all that old equipment still running perfectly. I give them all credit, it gets extremely HOT in that building. Over 100° for sure. Makes me think how good I have it in my cozy 75° office sitting in my Herman Miller Chair.

So we all piled into more cars and vans and went to Fishbones. There I got to hang out with Steve, his wife Rosanne , and Peter . I had only seen them in pictures but it felt like I had known them for a long time. Great guys. It was really cool to be able to share a meal and talk baseball with them.

Everyone was so appreciative of everything and we didn’t even do anything but give them an ornament and share their company. When we parted ways, everyone from the group either hugged us or gave us a stiff hand shake, in some cases both. It was a great feeling. It really made my Christmas.
