Are You Ready For Rambo?

It’s been 20 years since John Rambo blew our faces off and tomorrow he’s back to do it again. Sylvester Stallone is back again to prove that you’re never to old to whisper tough but cheesy dialogue to no one in particular while blowing something up. I don’t know about you guys but I’m pretty jacked.

As a kid I loved Rambo! I even had every action figure and waited impatiently for the day I was old enough to see the real movie not the edited for TV version that TNT aired every weekend. My wife shared the same adoration for the bandanna bazooka warrior. As a kid she would run around wearing a red bandanna pretending she was Rambo. There are pictures to prove it.

I think the thing that was so alluring about Rambo was that he fought for those who couldn’t fight for themselves. He was this one man army of justice that carried with him only his scars a snarl and a big freakin knife. This movie looks to be no different, as he is put up against the forces of evil to save some missionaries that were captured by a Burmese military group. I’m sure there will be some sort of political message put in there about how war doesn’t solve anything but that’s not the reason why people go see a Stallone flick. At least that’s not why I go to see one.

So are you ready for Rambo? Do you think this is just some cheap attempt to resurrect a box office hit while Sly’s steriods are still keeping his muscles from atrophy, or are you pumped?
