Not To Jinx Them But…

I am really excited about tonight. I have the day off from the fruit store, and the house to myself. Not that the wife impeeds my viewing, as a matter of fact, I would say that she enhances it. I have a blast watching any sporting event with her. She is a riot. Especially if she gets really into it. Unfortunately she has to work tonight, so I will be yelling at the TV with the dog as my only companion.

I must say I have really enjoyed this years NHL playoffs. Not just because of how great the Wings have played, but the overall excitement I’ve felt. I really have fallen in love with hockey again.

Another thing that has made this playoff so much more enjoyable, is the Wings have done so well not doing the same things they always do to get them booted from the playoffs far too soon. Here are a few things I’ve noticed.

1) They can gain the zone. So many years you could always tell the Wings were doomed when they could carry the puck over their opposing team’s blue line. Puck possession has been huge for the Wings.

2) The guys who you expect to score….score. To add to that, there is always someone who steps up to add a point of their own.

3) The Goal tending has been great. I have always been a fan of Osgood. When I was a young lad and Ozzie was a rookie I stood in line for a really long time for him to sign my card. It was great.

So we’ll see what happens tonight, but I think we’re gonna see the Wings bring the cup back home to Detroit.
